The Federal Government has approved the establishment of a Court of Appeal in Abeokuta, Ogun State, a landmark Governor Dapo Abiodun says his administration proudly advocated to bring justice closer to the people.

A post shared on the Governor’s X noted that the new appellate division will ease the heavy case load on the Ibadan Division, ensure quicker dispensation of justice, and strengthen the foundation of fairness in the state.

Abiodun described justice as the bedrock of every prosperous society, reiterating his government’s commitment to supporting the judiciary with resources, prioritizing the welfare of judicial officers, and enhancing institutional efficiency.

He commended the Chief Judge and other judicial officers for their reforms and dedication, noting that Ogun State would continue to uphold the integrity of the legal system, sustain judicial independence, and entrench democratic ideals.

“Together, we will continue to build a system where the scales of justice remain balanced, the vulnerable are protected, and the rule of law thrives for the good of all,” Abiodun noted.
