FG calls strategic meeting with council of state, police council over insecurity

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), George Akume, has invited members of the Council of State and the Police Council to a crucial hybrid strategic meeting set for Thursday, October 9, 2025, at the Council Chambers of Aso Villa, a statement on Monday by the Director Information & Public Relations, Segun Imohiosen confirmed.

Emanso Okop Umobong, Permanent Secretary of the Cabinet Affairs Office, explained that the meeting “aims to discuss matters of national importance and key issues affecting national security and policing.”

The agenda highlights the federal government’s focus on safeguarding Nigeria through collaborative governance and security oversight.

The sessions are scheduled as follows: Meeting with the Council of State at 1:00 pm; Meeting with the Police Council at 2:00 pm

Participants are expected to join either physically or virtually, reflecting the inclusive approach of this high-level engagement.

This gathering “underscores President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s commitment to addressing pressing national issues and ensuring the safety and security of citizens,” demonstrating proactive leadership on security challenges facing the nation.
