FG decorates new set of senior officers

Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has decorated a new set of senior officers in the nation’s paramilitary services, marking the third such ceremony in two years.
The minister highlighted that since the start of the current administration, over 50,000 personnel have been promoted, a development he described as a decisive end to career stagnation in the sector.
He wrote on X, “It is exciting to see how President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration has ended career stagnation in the history of our nation’s paramilitary services.
“When we assumed office about two years ago, we met officers who were demoralised by career stagnation and poor welfare packages. We knew it was not only dangerous but also counter-productive to continue that trend, being a government that prioritises welfare and believes in the advancement of human capital development.
“Our determination to change the story led to the paradigm shift we are celebrating today.
“Again, today, we converged to decorate a new set of Deputy Controllers/Comptrollers/Commandants-General drawn from services under the Ministry of Interior.
“This ceremony makes it the third time in two years our administration is decorating officers. This is not in isolation, as our administration has promoted over 50,000 personnel since the swearing-in of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“I am happy to lead a ministry that is proud of its personnel and doing everything to ensure they get what they deserve from the service.
“Today, we also made history as the Federal Fire Service produced its first ever female Deputy Controller General.”
