FG disburses over N20bn to boost primary health centres

The Federal Government has announced the disbursement of more than N20 billion to fund 4,362 primary health care centres across the 19 Northern states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, over the past two years.
This significant financial injection according to a release by on Wednesday by the Special Assistant (Media) to the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Rabiu Ibrahim, is aimed at strengthening healthcare delivery in the region.
The revelation was made by the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Professor Muhammad Ali Pate, during an interactive Government–Citizens Engagement session organized by the Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Foundation in Kaduna.
Pate also highlighted that 274 projects have been completed across 35 tertiary hospitals in Northern Nigeria, benefiting over 4.5 million outpatients and 1.6 million inpatients.
He emphasised that these efforts reflect the administration’s strong commitment to improving health outcomes nationwide.
