FG launches N10 million support portal for staff in higher education

President Bola Tinubu’s administration has launched the Tertiary Institution Staff Support Fund (TISSF) portal, aimed at both academic and non-academic personnel in universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education.

This program offers interest-free loans of up to N10 million, with a repayment term of up to five years and a one-year grace period.

Recipients can utilise the funds for transportation, small-scale agricultural business initiatives, medical costs, family assistance, housing needs, and educational pursuits.

The application portal is available at ’tissf.education.gov.ng’

Minister of Education, Tunji Alausa, thanked President Tinubu for approving the initiative, describing the TISSF as a demonstration of the administration’s commitment to education and staff welfare. He noted that the fund complements the successful student-oriented NELFUND program.

The TISSF is part of the National Education Sector Renewal Implementation (NESRI) framework, with monitoring mechanisms and guardrails in place to ensure smooth implementation.
