FG reiterates commitment to Gulf of Guinea’s peace, security

Vice President Kashim Shettima has reiterated President Bola Tinubu’s dedication to ensuring peace, security, and stability in the Gulf of Guinea.

During a courtesy visit by the Gulf of Guinea Commission (GGC) Executive Secretary, Jose Mba Abeso, and his team to the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Tuesday, Shettima underscored Nigeria’s commitment to regional cooperation and the African Union’s 2050 Integrated Maritime Strategy.

In a post on Shettima’s X handle, he noted Nigeria’s commitment to regional cooperation and to the African Union’s 2050 Integrated Maritime Strategy.

He wrote, “Vice President #KashimSM has reaffirmed President #officialABAT’s commitment to the peace, security, and stability of the Gulf of Guinea, particularly the ongoing reforms in the Gulf of Guinea Commission (#Oficial_GGC).

“He particularly noted Nigeria’s commitment to regional cooperation and to the African Union’s (#_AfricanUnion) 2050 Integrated Maritime Strategy.

“The Vice President stated this on Tuesday when he received the Executive Secretary of the GGC, Mr. Jose Mba Abeso, and his team on a courtesy visit to the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

“On behalf of President #officialABAT, I reaffirm Nigeria’s strong commitment to the objectives of the GGC. ‘Nobody can undermine the role of the Commission in fostering cooperation, peace, and sustainable development in the Gulf of Guinea,’ he noted.”
