The Federal Government has reaffirmed its dedication to maintaining an uninterrupted supply of refined petroleum products across Nigeria following a key meeting of the Steering Committee on the Domestic Crude Oil and Refined Products Sales in Local Currency Initiative.
Chaired by Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun, the meeting addressed recent concerns in the downstream oil sector, notably resolving the reported suspension of the Naira-for-crude oil arrangement with Dangote Refinery amicably.
Officials also discussed issues raised by the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) involving the refinery.
High-level representatives from the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning, Federal Inland Revenue Service, Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority, Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Ltd., Central Bank of Nigeria, Afreximbank, and Dangote Refinery were in attendance.
