FG, State, LG share N1.818tn June allocation

At its July 2025 meeting, the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC), chaired by the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun, announced the distribution of a total sum of N1.818 trillion to the three tiers of government as Federation Allocation for June 2025, drawn from a gross total of N4.232 trillion.
The allocation included Gross Statutory Revenue, Value Added Tax (VAT), Electronic Money Transfer Levy (EMTL), Exchange Difference, and N100 billion augmentation from Non-Mineral Revenue.
This was made known in a statement signed on Saturday by the Director, Information and Public Relations, Mohammed Manga.
The Federal Government received N645.383 billion, the States got N607.417 billion, Local Government Councils were allocated N444.853 billion, and the Oil Producing States received N120.759 billion as Derivation allocation (13% of Mineral Revenue).
The cost of collection was set at N162.786 billion, with N2.251 trillion allocated for Transfers, Intervention, and Refunds.
The communique revealed a decrease in VAT Gross Revenue for June to N678.165 billion from the previous month’s N742.820 billion, a decline of N64.655 billion. Of this, N27.127 billion was spent on cost of collection and N19.531 billion on Transfers, Intervention, and Refunds. The residual N631.507 billion was shared among the Federal Government (N94.726 billion), States (N315.754 billion), and Local Government Councils (N221.027 billion).
Gross Statutory Revenue for the month stood at N3.385 trillion, surpassing the prior month’s N2.094 trillion by N1.390 trillion. After deductions for collection costs (N134.444 billion) and Transfers (N2.231 trillion), the balance of N1.018 trillion was distributed accordingly: Federal Government (N474.455 billion), States (N240.650 billion), Local Government Councils (N185.531 billion), and Derivation Revenue for Mineral Producing States (N118.256 billion).
Additionally, the Electronic Money Transfer Levy (EMTL) sum of N30.380 billion was disbursed, with the Federal Government receiving N4.375 billion, States N14.582 billion, Local Government Councils N10.208 billion, while N1.215 billion was set aside for cost of collection.
In his opening remarks, Edun expressed condolences over the death of former President Muhammadu Buhari, stating,
“The country is still in a mourning mood. The former President’s death was a great loss not only to his immediate family but the country as a whole.”
He also commended the FAAC members, saying, “I commend the FAAC members’ commitment toward realising the policy objectives of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration in repositioning the economy.”
