Finance ministry champions indigenous electric vehicle innovation in Nigeria

The Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy of Nigeria, Wale Edun has praised a local electric vehicle manufacturer, NEV Electric, for its contributions to Nigeria’s transportation sector.
This was revealed in a statement Dailyeconomy obtained from the Ministry of Finance on Monday.
During a demonstration of NEV Electric’s buses, Edun underscored the company’s role in promoting sustainable mass transit, which aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda aimed at enhancing cleaner transportation options.
Edun highlighted the initiative’s potential to generate jobs, bolster energy security, and improve urban mobility.
It reads, “HM Wale Edun has commended NEV Electric, an indigenous electric vehicle company by Brilliant Model Technology, for its role in advancing Nigeria’s transportation sector.
“During a firsthand experience with NEV Electric’s buses on Sunday, the Honourable Minister of Finance & Coordinating Minister of the Economy, praised the company’s innovation in sustainable mass transit, aligning with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda for cleaner and more efficient transportation.
“HM Edun highlighted the initiative’s potential to create jobs, enhance energy security, and improve urban mobility.”
He thereby reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting local innovation and stressed the importance of private-sector partnerships in transforming Nigeria’s transportation landscape.
