Finance Ministry inaugurates anti-corruption, transparency unit

The Federal Ministry of Finance has commissioned an Anti-Corruption and Transparency Unit Committee, aimed at promoting transparency and accountability in the public service.
The inauguration was disclosed in a statement shared on social media by the Ministry of Finance, on Thursday.
This statement was signed on December 30, by the Director, Information and Public Relations, Mohammed Manga.
The Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Finance, Lydia Shehu Jafiya, while speaking at the event said the inauguration of the Anti-Corruption Committee marks a decisive step in the ministry’s collective commitment to foster integrity, accountability and transparency within the public service and a further reflection of their unwavering dedication to ensuring that the Ministry stands as a beacon of ethical conduct and good governance.
While emphasising the importance of the initiative, she said, Combating corruption is not the responsibility of ACTU alone but requires the collective effort of all staff in the Ministry.”
She thereby enjoined everyone to embrace this initiative wholeheartedly, support the Committee’s work, and demonstrate their commitment to ethical behaviour in all our dealings.
“The Permanent Secretary assured the Committee of her unwavering support and collaboration in achieving its objectives.
“She informed that the ACTU Committee is tasked with promoting and entrenching a culture of transparency, upholding the highest standards of accountability, and ensuring that the principles of the rule of law guide all actions within the Ministry,” the statement said.
