The Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) has announced significant progress since launching the National e-Invoicing and Electronic Fiscal System (EFS) on August 1, 2025.

A statement signed by FIRS Executive Chairman, Dr Zacch Adedeji, on Thursday acknowledged that a large number of Large Taxpayers have now completed their system integrations and begun live transmission of e-invoices ahead of the extended deadline of November 1, 2025.

According to FIRS, “Many others are currently at advanced stages of integration,” with service providers actively engaging taxpayers to ensure full compliance.

The Service praised the collaborative effort, stating, “The Service commends the cooperation and commitment demonstrated by Large Taxpayers and service providers alike towards the successful rollout of the e-Invoicing regime.”

Despite the progress, the FIRS strongly urged all remaining Large Taxpayers yet to complete integration to “comply with the e-invoice mandate without further delay, in line with the provisions of the tax laws.”

Adedeji thereby emphasised the agency’s commitment to assisting taxpayers, noting, “The FIRS remains committed to supporting taxpayers through continuous stakeholder engagements, technical assistance, and training to ensure a seamless integration experience.”
