Five suspects apprehended for crude oil theft

Five suspects have been arrested by the Commandant General’s Special Intelligence Squad of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps over illegal dealings and siphoning of crude oil.
The arrest was divulged in a terse statement by NSCDC via its X (formally Twitter) handle.
The statement reads, “In a sustained onslaught against oil theft in the country, operatives of the Commandant General’s Special Intelligence Squad [CG’s SIS] have arrested five suspects for involvement in illegal dealings and siphoning of crude oil.”
Dailyeconomy on September 4, reported that the operatives of Mining Marshals of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps apprehended four individuals suspected of engaging in the illegal mining of gold in a Government Reserved Area in Ondo State.
