The fresh flood incident that occurred at Shagari Earth Dam, located in Lambara Axis of Shagari Local Government Area of Sokoto has displaced the residents from the community and destroyed their farm products.
The people of the Shagari Local Government are known to be all-year-round farmers.
The flood according to the National Emergency Management Agency was a result of the recent continuous rainfall that increased the amount of water in the dam.
The flood led to an overflow that submerged many houses in the communities of Lambara and Ruggar Buda areas.
However, the affected individuals have been displaced from their homes due to the huge amount of water that flooded their residences, schools and roads.
Alas, a very significant area of farmlands was affected by the flood water as the affected communities are all year-round farmers.
Dailyeconomy on Monday, August 19, reported that a severe flood has ravaged the Gumi and Bukkuyum Local Government Areas of Zamfara State, turning many residents into homeless.
