Foursquare Festac hosts career conference, unveils empowerment opportunities for youth
As part of its ongoing 30th Convocation Anniversary celebrations, the Foursquare Gospel Church, Festac District on Saturday, August 2nd, 2025, hosted an impactful Enterprise & Career Fair aimed at equipping young people with tools for career advancement, entrepreneurship, and skill development.
The event, held at the district headquarters of the Foursquare Gospel Church Festac District, attracted various people from different walks of life, including job seekers, young entrepreneurs, students, and professionals across Lagos. It featured keynote presentations, business exhibitions, and practical masterclasses focused on the evolving world of work and enterprise in Nigeria.
Speaking at the conference were representatives from ICS Outsourcing, Gradworld Concept Ltd, and the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF), all of whom provided expert insight into hiring trends, talent readiness, entrepreneurship pathways, and public-private support for youth development. Attendees also received direct guidance on CV writing, job interviews, startup funding, and leveraging digital skills in today’s competitive marketplace.
In a key highlight, ICS Outsourcing in partnership with LSETF and GIZ (German Development Agency), announced the commencement of a youth training initiative that will equip 100 young Nigerians (ages 18–35) with employability and trade-based skills, a timely intervention to curb youth unemployment and boost small enterprise capacity.
According to Rev Abimbola Samuel , the District Overseer of Foursquare Festac District, “This conference is not just another church event; it is a strategic response to the economic and spiritual needs of our youth. We are proud to create platforms that go beyond inspiration to tangible impact.”
The conference is one of several activities celebrating 30 years of growth, impact, and service in the Festac District. Other programs already concluded include:
Football Competition, which brought together youth from across the district in a display of sportsmanship and fellowship.
Pre-Convocation Prayer & Fasting, where congregations across 6 zones united in daily intercession for the church and nation; and
Career and Enterprise Exhibition, which showcased small businesses, skills, and services within the Christian community.
Still ahead are a range of spiritually enriching and community-focused events, including:
Night of Awesome Praise & Power Encounter, featuring guest ministers and prophetic worship;
Business Meeting & Jesus Market, an outreach to the needy and the widows in the Festac environ, and the
Grand Finale & Dedication of the New Agboju District Headquarters Church, taking place on Sunday, August 17th.
The entire convocation is themed “Highway to Holiness” (Isaiah 33:8, Jeremiah 6:16), reflecting the district’s commitment to upholding spiritual depth while engaging culture and society with relevance.
As the district marks this significant milestone, members, partners, and the public are encouraged to join in the remaining celebrations, a journey of impact, growth, and revival that spans over three decades.
