France pledges solidarity, increased support to Nigeria amid rising security threats

France’s President Emmanuel Macron, has expressed strong solidarity with Nigeria on Sunday, highlighting the urgent need for international cooperation against terrorism.
Writing on X, Macron said, “I conveyed France’s solidarity in the face of the various security challenges, particularly the terrorist threat in the North.”
Following a conversation with Nigerian President Bola Tinubu, Macron added, “At his request, we will strengthen our partnership with the authorities and our support for the affected populations.”
He also issued a call to the global community, emphasising, “No one can remain a spectator.”
