Funke Akindele curses scammer using her name to dupe victims

Nollywood actress and producer, Funke Akindele has raised the alarm over a scammer using her name to defraud people.

Akindele in an X (formally Twitter) post warned her fans and the general public to be wary of the fraudster, who has been contacting people via WhatsApp and demanding money from them.

The screenshot she posted described that the scammer, identified as Prosper Paul, had been sending messages under her identity, asking for money and promising to repay it the next day.

As the investigation into the scammer’s activities continues, Akindele urged her fans to remain vigilant and to always verify the authenticity of any request for money or assistance before responding.

She captioned the post, “Pls beware!!! This is not from me!! Prosper!!! E no go prosper for you o!!! Ole!!!”
