Gabonese striker, Aaron Boupendza dies after 11th-floor fall in China

Gabon international footballer Aaron Boupendza has died at the age of 28 after falling from the 11th floor of a building in China, the country’s football federation announced on Wednesday.
In a statement on X (formally Twitter), the Gabonese Football Federation (Fegafoot) confirmed the tragic incident, stating that Boupendza passed away in China, where he was playing for Zhejiang FC.
The federation expressed deep sorrow over the loss, describing Boupendza as a talented striker who had left a lasting mark on Gabonese football.
The statement reads, “The Gabonese international has just passed away following a fall from the 11th floor of his building in China, where he was playing for Zhejiang FC.
“At 28, Boupendza leaves behind the memory of a remarkable striker who made a lasting impression during the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Cameroon.
“Trained at CF Mounana and Bordeaux in France, the Gabonese forward had joined the Chinese league after a brief stint in Romania.
“FEGAFOOT and the entire Gabonese football community extend their heartfelt condolences to his family during this difficult time.”
