Alejandro Garnacho has opened up about his turbulent final months at Manchester United before his £40m transfer to Chelsea in August 2025, admitting personal missteps amid reduced playing time.
In a recent interview, the 21-year-old winger said, “I remember in the last six months I was just not playing like before at United. I started to be on the bench, in my mind it was like I had to play every game.”
Garnacho, who fell out of favour under manager Ruben Amorim and trained separately at times, took accountability, “Maybe it is also on me, I started to do some bad things.”
Despite the messy departure, he spoke fondly of the club.
“With United, I have nothing wrong to say about the club, no one in the club or the teammates. It’s just a moment in life that change and life continues. I have no regrets.”
Now on a long-term deal with Chelsea until 2032, Garnacho has struggled for form, fueling speculation of a potential loan exit this summer.
