In a viral video shared on Friday, 2025, Gehgeh claimed that Wizkid “channels joint projects through DJ Tunez to protect his brand from potential flops while still benefiting from successful releases.”
Gehgeh pointed to recent 2025 songs like “One Condition” with Fola and “Money Constant” with Mavo, in addition to the upcoming “South Gidi” EP, which features multiple rising stars.
According to him, these collaborations being officially linked to DJ Tunez serve as a buffer for Wizkid’s image.
This assertion has deeply divided fans online with some praising the approach as a “savvy branding tactic” that cleverly balances risk and reward, while others condemned it as “an attempt to dodge responsibility for underperforming records.”
Despite the backlash, supporters have underscored Wizkid’s ongoing influence in the Afrobeats scene.
His recent collaboration with Ayra Starr on the track “Gimme Dat” was cited as clear evidence of his sustained dominance.
