General Musa sworn in as new Defence Minister

General Christopher Musa has officially taken the oath of office as Nigeria’s new Defence Minister, confirming a significant leadership change in the country’s defense landscape.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu announced the development, highlighting the urgency and importance of this appointment for the nation.
The President’s Spokesman, Bayo Onanuga, shared the moment on X, stating, “General Christopher Musa takes oath of office as Nigeria’s new Defence Minister.”
President Tinubu also expressed his gratitude toward the Nigerian Senate for their swift action, writing, “Two days ago, I transmitted the name of General Christopher G. Musa, our immediate past Chief of Defence Staff and a fine gentleman, to the Nigerian Senate for confirmation as the Federal Minister of Defence.
“I want to commend the Nigerian Senate for its expedited confirmation of General Musa yesterday. His appointment comes at a critical juncture in our lives as a Nation. God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
