The Delta State Police has issued a stern warning to members of the public against giving money or any form of inducement to police officers.

Reacting to a similar stance by the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police, the Delta Police emphasized, “The giver is as guilty as the receiver,” urging citizens to allow officers to perform their duties without interference.

The FCT Police had stated in a post on X, “It is unlawful to give our officers money or any form of inducement while they are performing their duty.

“Let them discharge their responsibilities diligently, without interference.”

The Nigeria Police Force reaffirmed its commitment to serving the public with integrity, noting, “Your cooperation is vital, together, we can build a safer society.”

To promote accountability, the police urged the public to report any unprofessional conduct by officers immediately via the CRU hotline at 08107314192 or the FCT Police emergency number 08032003913.
