Government shuts down Chrome Lagos for illegal wastewater discharge

The Lagos State Wastewater Management Office (LSWMO) has sealed off The Chrome Lagos located at 44, Jolayemi Street Off Admiralty Road, Lekki.
This action was taken on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, due to the deliberate discharge of untreated wastewater onto a public road.
Lagos Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, in a statement described the offense stating, “This unlawful act resulted in offensive odour and sewage overflow within the community, constituting public nuisance, environmental pollution, and posing significant risks to human health.”
The government reiterated its strong stance against such violations with the hashtag #ZeroToleranceLagos.
