Bayer Leverkusen manager, Erik Ten Hag has addressed swirling rumours linking him with a move for Manchester United winger Antony, a player he previously managed both at Ajax and United.

“He has great quality. I signed him twice. He was like a son to me, he still is a son to me.”

Despite his glowing praise, Ten Hag made it clear that a reunion is not imminent.

“We’re not interested in him at the moment, but we’ll see what happens in the future,” Ten Hag told BILD.

After joining Leverkusen as head coach following his Manchester United tenure, Ten Hag has been connected with a number of potential signings, particularly players he knows well from previous clubs.

Antony, who revitalised his game on loan at Real Betis, has attracted significant interest after his improved form.

However, both United and Betis have so far failed to agree on terms for a permanent move, with Leverkusen rumored as a possible next destination.

Leverkusen are expected to have funds for transfers following the anticipated sale of Florian Wirtz, but Ten Hag has signalled patience.
