Allegedly, the Manager of Century Home Hotel in the Owhelogbo area of Delta State, conspired with two individuals in a plot that led to the death of a Lagos-based indigene, Sunday Ogofotha.
This was made known in a terse statement on Friday, by the Delta State Police Command Spokesman, SP Bright Edafe.
Edafe noted that Ogofotha checked into the hotel on Friday, March 21 to attend a family funeral.
He wrote, “On Friday 21st March 2025, the corpse of one Sunday was discovered in Century Hotel Owhelogbo.
“When the deceased checked into the hotel, he called his wife in Lagos and told her where he lodged. The manager of the hotel conspired with two boys who promised him #5,000,000. The rest is history.“
However, Dailyeconomy gathered that the council chairman, Godwin Ogorugba, sealed the hotel on March 26 amidst growing concerns over criminal activities in the area.
