The Delta Police Public Relations Officer, Bright Edafe, has advised parents to exercise caution when entrusting neighbours with their children.
His advice followed an incident he shared where a 41- year- old suspect broke into his neighbour’s home to defile the neighbour’s 13-year-old daughter.
The neighbour, who stays in Ogborikoko, had asked the suspect to watch her kids while she went to the market.
Edafe revealed this via a video on his X (formally Twitter) handle on Wednesday.
The caption reads, “Parents, be mindful of neighbours you ask to take care of your children in your absence.
“In Ogborikoko, a woman asked her neighbor, a 41 years old suspect to take care of her children when she was going to market. Before she came back, this suspect entered the house of the neighbour, saw her 13-year-old daughter and brutally defiled her. I made a mistake when I said 16 during the interview, she is 13 years old.”
