IMF chief pledges support for Tinubu economic reforms

The Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund, Kristalina Georgieva, has pledged support for the economic reforms being embarked upon by the President Bola Tinubu-led administration.

This was made known in a statement on Thursday, by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

Georgieva made the pledge when she visited then Nigeria President, Bola Tinubu alongside her team on Wednesday evening in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Onanuga wrote, “IMF president Kristalina Georgieva and her team visited President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday evening in Rio de Janeiro and pledged strong support for the economic reforms of the Nigerian government.”

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and first lady Oluremi Tinubu had arrived at Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on Monday, November 18, for the 19th Heads of State and Government Summit of the Group of 20, Dailyeconomy reports.
