Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has expressed deep concern on Tuesday over reports of an attack targeting the residence of Russian President Vladimir Putin, urging all parties to prioritise diplomatic efforts amid the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Modi emphasised restraint and de-escalation.

He wrote, “Deeply concerned by reports of the targeting of the residence of the President of the Russian Federation. Ongoing diplomatic efforts offer the most viable path toward ending hostilities and achieving peace.”

Modi further called for unity, “We urge all concerned to remain focused on these efforts and to avoid any actions that could undermine them.”

The statement comes as tensions escalate in the nearly three-year war, with recent Ukrainian strikes deep into Russian territory drawing international scrutiny.

India has maintained a neutral stance, advocating dialogue while balancing ties with both Moscow and Kyiv.
