Insurance operators launch campaign to promote Third-Party Motor Insurance compliance

Insurance companies under the umbrella body of the Nigerian Insurers Association, and other operators including the brokers have launched a three-week campaign tagged ‘‘Third Party Motor Insurance Works, Get It, Use It’, as part of efforts to boost implementation of the policy.
This was announced today during a press briefing in Lagos at the NIA Insurers House.
Addressing the press, the Head Communication and Stakeholders Management Sub-committee, Insurers’ Committee and Managing Director Rex Insurance Limited Mrs. Ebelechukwu Nwachukwu, said the campaign would boost awareness of the mandatory Third Party Motor Insurance policy.
The association also assured the insuring public of prompt claims settlement of their claims.
The NIA called on vehicle owners nationwide to take full advantage of this campaign by obtaining their third–party motor insurance policies through licensed and authorised insurers.
Third-Party Motor Insurance offers policyholders, indemnity against legal liabilities to third parties for death, injury and property damage while on the other hand, comprehensive motor insurance covers loss or damage from accidents, fire, theft, and third-parties’ liabilities and own damage.
