The Insurers’ Committee has been reconstituted from seven to four sub-committees in line with the pillars of the 10-year roadmap for the insurance industry.
This was announced during the 16th Meeting of the Insurers’ Committee (IC), where the operators and the regulator, National Insurance Commission, discussed the progress and future direction of Nigeria’s insurance sector in Lagos on Thursday.
The IC meeting comprising of insurance CEOs was the first with the Commissioner for Insurance, Mr Olusegun Omosehin.
At the last IC meeting, it had about seven sub-committees but these committees were reconstituted into four, and the different committees have different aspects of reform strategies to focus on.
The reconstituted sub-committees are:
Insurance Sector Stability Sub-Committees- Mr. Ganiyu Musa as Chairman, supported by Mr. Gboyega Lesi as Deputy.
Communication & Stakeholders Management Sub-Committee- Mrs. Ebelechukwu Nwachukwu as chairman,
Technology & Talent Management Subcommittee- Mr Babatunde Fajemirokun as chairman
