Iyana-iba, LASU environs get fresh look as Lagos begins cleanup

The Lagos Waste Management Authority has commenced a major cleanup exercise in the Iyana-Iba, Lagos State University and surrounding areas this week.

The operations team of LAWMA has started the cleanup, which according to the Managing Director of LAWMA, Muyiwa Gbadegesin, will be followed by sustained monitoring and enforcement to maintain cleanliness in the affected neighbourhoods.

“The LAWMA Operations team started a major cleanup exercise at lyana-Iba, LASU, and environs this week.

“The cleanup will be followed up with sustained monitoring and enforcement working with Lagos Environmental Sanitation Corps, Local Government Officers, and the Road Transport Unions,” Gbadegesin wrote on his X (formally Twitter) account.

The cleanup initiative aims to enhance the all-around sanitation and environmental disorders in the targeted areas. It is part of the Lagos State government’s efforts to ensure a cleaner and healthier living environment for residents.
