Veteran Nollywood actor, Jide Kosoko has proved to be false claims surrounding sexual favours as major criteria for securing movie roles in the Nigeria industry.
Kosoko in an interview with the Honest Bunch, expressed that no actor is forced into such situations, underscoring that participation is often based on an individual’s personal choice.
The actor alleged knowing some ladies who come into the industry with the mindset of making a name for themselves after involving in sexual activities with top individuals in the industry.
Kosoko thereby condemned the act, noting that such should not be proposed in the first place.
Jide said, “There is nothing like sex for roles in the movie industry. If I say I need you to come warm my bed before I can give you a particular movie role and you say you don’t want to, just go. They cannot force you to do that, if someone introduces something to you and you don’t want to say no.
“But if you want that role by all means, that means you want to dance to his tunes. I’m not saying it’s right to have introduced that to you, but if he says it one way or the other and you fall to it, that’s your business, how does that concern the whole world?
“All these sex for role things, forget about it, I know some ladies that equally come into the industry with the determination that by the time I sleep with this and sleep with that, I’ll get my name, I know of some popular actresses.”
