In a heartfelt message, football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo expressed his deep sorrow over the tragic passing of Liverpool forward Diogo Jota and his brother Andre.

Liverpool and Portugal star Diogo Jota died in a fiery car accident near Zamora, northwestern Spain, along with his brother Andre, aged 26. The crash occurred early Thursday on the A-52 motorway when their Lamborghini suffered a tyre blowout while overtaking, veered off the road, and caught fire.

Jota, who married longtime partner Rute Cardoso just five days prior, was 28 years old and had three children.

Expressing shock, Ronaldo wrote, “Doesn’t make any sense. Just now we were together in the National Team, just now you were married. To your family, to your wife and children, I send my condolences and wish them all the strength in the world. I know you will always be with them. R.I.P. Diogo and Andre. We will all miss you.”

The football community mourns the loss of the talented forward, remembering his contributions on and off the pitch.
