Kidnapped Ex-federal lawmaker regains freedom after 11 days in

The former Delta State Commissioner for Technical Education and former member of the House of Representatives, Joan Mrakpor, has been released by kidnappers after being abducted on July 30.
She regained her freedom according to the Delta State Police spokesperson, Bright Edafe late on Friday, August 9, 2024.
While the kidnappers initially demanded a ransom of N1bn, meanwhile Edafe in the confirmation post didn’t make it clear whether that amount was paid or not.
“It is confirmed that Rt. Hon. Joan Onyemaechi (Ada-Anioma) has regained her freedom,” Edafe confirms on X (formally Twitter).
The former member of the House of Representatives was confirmed to have returned to Delta State and was taken to a hospital for evaluation following her release.
