Some members from Kogi Central have formally petitioned the Independent National Electoral Commission for the recall of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, who represents the district in the Senate.

Under the law, for a federal lawmaker to be recalled, a petition must be submitted to INEC’s chairman, bearing the signatures of over 50% of registered voters in the constituency.

However, the petition is followed by a verification process and a referendum.

The law mandates that the entire recall process must be completed within 90 days from the date the petition is received by INEC.

However, it was gathered that over 250,000 out of 480,000 voters signed Natasha’s recall Petition.
