Kwara Gov condemns Kaiama massacre as 75 muslims slain, Tinubu deploys army battalion

Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq arrived in Kaiama on Thursday night amid grief and resolve, revealing that 75 local Muslims were brutally massacred for refusing to bow to extremists pushing a “strange doctrine.”
Flanked by service chiefs and cabinet members, the governor commiserated with the devastated community during a somber reception by the Emir of Kaiama.
In a statement obtained by his Senior Special Assistant on Communications, AbdulRazaq detailed the horror, “Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq says 75 local Muslims were massacred simply for refusing to surrender to extremists who preached a strange doctrine.”
He revealed a major security boost, announcing President Bola Tinubu’s swift approval, “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, has approved immediate deployment of an army battalion to prosecute counter offensives codenamed ‘Operation Savannah Shield’.”
The incident underscores rising tensions in the region, with the new operation signaling a robust federal response to extremism.
