The Senior Special Assistant to Kwara State Governor on Communications, Ibraheem Abdullateef, urged citizens to “stand as one, united behind the government and His Excellency Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq in fighting off these criminals.”
Abdullateef in a statement on Sunday stressed, “We only have one common enemy, which is the marauding criminals attacking our communities,” urging Kwarans to shun divisive rhetoric along ethnic, tribal, and religious lines.
Abdullateef also highlighted security gains stressing, “At least 35 of those criminals were arrested or neutralised in the last three weeks,” and described the recent killing of a kidnap kingpin known as Maidawa during a joint operation.
He emphasised that the Governor has been proactive, noting the GOC 2 Division Ibadan’s relocation to Kwara to support ongoing efforts.
The SSA Communications thereby urged the public to “avoid spreading fake news and raising false alarms on the operations of bandits.”
