The Kwara State Police Command has carried out a major joint “Show of Force” operation across key areas of the state on Saturday, April 4, 2026, in a bid to bolster security during the Easter period.
The exercise involved collaboration with the Department of State Services (DSS), Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), and Kwara State Road Traffic Management Agency (KWARTMA), under the leadership of Commissioner of Police CP Ojo Adekimi.
In a signed statement by SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, Police Public Relations Officer, the command highlighted the operation’s role in its “proactive security strategy.”
It follows directives from Inspector-General of Police IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, NPM, to ensure “robust security coverage before, during, and after the Easter celebration period.”
The statement noted a “significant deployment of security personnel and operational assets across the state,” aimed at reassuring residents and warning criminals: “Kwara State will not serve as a safe haven for criminal elements.”
CP Ojo Adekimi expressed gratitude to the IGP for his “visionary leadership and continued support,” while commending partner agencies for their “professionalism, synergy, and dedication.”
The command affirmed it “remains resolute in sustaining these security measures beyond the festive period to ensure lasting peace and stability across Kwara State.”
