The Kwara State Police Command has successfully rescued Haruna Ahamadu unharmed from a kidnapper’s den in the Omu-Aran forest, Irepodun Local Government Area.

The operation resulted from credible intelligence and involved joint action by police operatives and local vigilantes.

The Command’s spokesperson, SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, stated in a statement on Thursday, “The Kwara State Police Command has recorded yet another operational success in its sustained onslaught against criminal elements in the state.”

She added that two suspects, Ayisa Ibrahim and Yakubu Hassan, have been arrested, while a manhunt continues for other gang members.

Commissioner of Police, CP Adekimi Ojo, praised the officers for their professionalism and reassured the public of the Command’s ongoing commitment.

“The Commissioner of Police commended the officers for their dedication and assured members of the public that the Command remains fully committed to dismantling criminal networks and ensuring the safety of all residents,” he said.

The CP also acknowledged the leadership of Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, highlighting his policing vision as a catalyst for enhanced crime-fighting effectiveness nationwide.

Ejire-Adeyemi urged residents to keep providing useful information to help security agents combat crime, warning that kidnappers and bandits “would have no hiding place in any part of the state.”

This rescue adds to recent successes, including a recent Army operation where 23 kidnap victims were freed from forests along the Kwara-Kogi border and handed over to the State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.
