A 27-year-old man, Adamu Ismail, has been arrested by officials of the Lagos State Parks and Gardens Agency (LASPARK) for allegedly stealing fence wire mesh at Peace Park in Ojota.
As stated in a statement on the X handle of the Lagos State Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, on Monday, Ismail has been handed over to the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps (LAGESC) for processing and will be prosecuted.
It reads, “Earlier today, 27-year-old Adamu Ismail was apprehended by LASPARK officials while stealing the fence wire mesh at Peace Park, Ojota.
“He has since been handed over to #LAGESCOfficial for processing and will face prosecution. Acts of vandalism against public infrastructure will not be tolerated. These facilities belong to all of us, and protecting them is a shared responsibility.
“We will continue to enforce without compromise to safeguard public assets across Lagos.”
