Lagos arrests 12 miscreants for causing public nuisance

Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps deployed surveillance teams to several areas in Lagos in response to reports from concerned citizens, which led to the arrest of 12 miscreants.

The areas monitored as it was stated by the State Commissioner Ministry of Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab on Friday, included Falomo in Ikoyi, Adeola Odeku and Sanusi Fafunwa in Victoria Island, Chisco, Ikate, and Marwa, along the Lekki-Ajah expressway.

Wahab wrote on X (formally Twitter), ”Acting on reports received from concerned citizens on the menace and nuisance caused by miscreants and destitute, the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps (KAI) yesterday, deployed surveillance teams in some of the areas reported.

“Falomo in Ikoyi, Adeola Odeku and Sanusi Fafunwa in Victoria Island, Chisco, Ikate and Marwa, along Lekki-Ajah expressway, were monitored, leading to the arrest of 12 suspects; 10 adults and 2 minors.”

Wahab in the statement promised that suspects would be arraigned in a court of competent jurisdiction.

However, Dailyeconomy on August 25, reported that the Lagos State Government has arrested 20 individuals over environmental infractions in the Ojodu–Berger area of the state.
