Lagos State has intensified its crackdown on street disorder, with operatives from the State Taskforce and the Ministry of Environment and Water Resources conducting sweeping enforcement operations across the city.

In a statement shared via social media, State Commissioner Tokunbo Wahab highlighted the latest actions, stating, “The attached video captures additional enforcement activities carried out across different parts of the city by operatives of the Lagos State Taskforce and the Ministry.

“As part of these operations, individuals engaging in street disorder and related infractions, commonly referred to as Omotakus, were removed to restore order, improve safety, and protect the public space.”

Wahab emphasised the ongoing commitment to a cleaner Lagos, adding, “These actions are in line with our commitment to keeping Lagos orderly, safe, and liveable for all. Enforcement remains firm, but it is guided by the law and the broader responsibility to safeguard lives and property across the state.”

The operations, tagged with #ZeroToleranceLagos, aim to eliminate nuisances like illegal trading and public disturbances, promoting safety in public spaces.
