Lagos Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, on Monday announced a rigorous enforcement operation by the Lagos Waste Management Authority (Lawma) in Sangotedo to ensure compliance with waste management regulations.

In a post on X accompanying a video, Wahab stated, “Non-compliance poses risks to public health and the environment, and will not be overlooked.”

He emphasised that “Every resident and business has the responsibility to manage waste properly,” underscoring the collective effort needed to maintain cleanliness.

The Commissioner highlighted the role of Lawma’s Monitoring and Compliance Team, saying, “At Sangotedo, @Lawma_gov ‘s Monitoring and Compliance Team carried out enforcement to ensure full adherence to waste management regulations.”

Wahab concluded with a call to action, “Together, we must uphold accountability for a cleaner, safer Lagos.”
