The Lagos State Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources has issued a 48-hour eviction notice to traders selling and residing on the median from Ebute-Ero-Iga Idungaran to Oja Oba in Lagos Island.
The Commissioner for the environment and water resources, Tokunbo Wahab, in a statement on Saturday, noted that the directive is a part of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s administration’s efforts to maintain environmental cleanliness, restore order, and enhance the safety of lives and property across the state.
He wrote, ” The Lagos State Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources has served a 48hours vacation notice to traders selling and sleeping on median from Ebute- Ero-Iga Idungaran to Oja Oba in Lagos Island.
“This is in line with the #jidesanwoolu led administration’s commitment to ensuring cleanliness and sanity in our environments, and also security of life and properties of all Lagosians.”
However, he reiterated the state government zero-tolerance policy towards environmental violations.
