Lagos police trap car thief disassembling Toyota Yaris

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a 39-year-old man identified as Monday Julius, for stealing a Toyota Yaris in Oshodi.
The suspect has been disassembling the vehicle to sell its parts as he could sell it whole, as revealed in a post shared on Lagos State Police Command X (formally Twitter) handle on Monday.
The police recovered the car during their investigation into the theft.
Officers from the Ilupeju division acted on reports of the stolen vehicle, leading to the suspect’s apprehension.
The statement reads, reads, “Officers of Ilupeju Division while investigating a report about a Toyota Yaris Saloon Car that was removed from where it was parked, arrested one Monday Julius ‘m’ aged 39 at Oshodi.
“The suspect had however begun to disassemble the car to sell in parts as he could not sell it whole. The vehicle has been recovered and investigation is ongoing.”
Dailyeconomy had earlier reported Lagos police arrested three individuals while on stop and search for possessing a locally-made pistol.
