Lagos Speaker hosts Swedish Ambassador in Nigeria, discusses partnership

The Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mojisola Lasbat Meranda, has hosted the Swedish Ambassador to Nigeria, Annika Hahn-Englund, in her office.

Englund, had gone to Meranda’s office on a courtesy visit where they discussed vital partnerships aimed at achieving the 2030 SDG agenda.

The Speaker shared this on her X (formally Twitter) handle late on Monday.

She wrote, “I was honoured to welcome the Swedish Ambassador to Nigeria, H.E. Mrs. Annika Hahn-Englund, for a fruitful courtesy visit today.

“We discussed vital partnerships aimed at achieving the 2030 SDG Agenda, with a focus on Gender Equality, protecting the rights of the girl child, and strengthening bilateral trade relations between Lagos State and Sweden. Additionally, we explored opportunities for exchange programs between the Swedish Parliament and the Lagos State House of Assembly.

“As a woman in the legislative arm of government, I remain committed to fostering impactful collaborations and advancing policies that empower women and children. Together, we can build a better, more inclusive future.”
