Lagos teacher sets Guinness World Record

Lagos-based teacher, Oluwaseyi Anifowose, has officially secured a Guinness World Record for organising the largest gathering of teachers in the world, held in Lagos.
The Convener of the “Let There Be Teachers Conference 2025” said the programme was born out of a deep conviction to create a global platform that spotlights the real challenges facing the teaching profession.
The event coordinator noted that about 90% of the participants were teachers from Lagos, saying that limited funds prevented the inclusion of teachers from outside the state as originally intended.
This historic initiative was not merely an attempt to break a record but also a bold call to action — to celebrate teachers, amplify their voices, and push stakeholders to commit to more meaningful reforms.
Anifowose, who has years of experience in teacher training and capacity development, received confirmation of the achievement via a virtual presentation, as Guinness World Records has not yet posted the feat on its social media platforms.
