Lagos to construct 1,000-bed mental health institute, rehabilitation centre

The construction of the Lagos State Mental Health Institute, Psychiatric and Rehabilitation Center, by Lagos Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, is underway.
The Mental Health centre, situated in Ketu Ejirin, in the Epe Local Government Area of the State is a 1,000-bed facility sitting on about 25-hectare land.
The facility is said to serve as a rehabilitation centre where people with mental health illness will be taken care of.
This was disclosed in a post shared on Wednesday, by the Senior Special Assistant on New Media to Lagos Governor, Jubril Gawat.
It reads, ” Governor of Lagos State, Mr #jidesanwoolu is constructing the Lagos State Mental Health Institute, Psychiatric and Rehabilitation Center, Ketu Ejirin, Epe Local Government Area.
“It is a 1,000-bed facility sitting on about 25-hectare land, will serve as a rehabilitation center where people with mental health illness will be taken care of. It would also be a total rehabilitation home with recreational and vocational centres for total rehabilitation of people with psychiatric illness.”
