Lagos Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, has emphasised the importance of shared responsibility in addressing environmental challenges caused by flooding.
Wahab in a terse statement shared on X stated, “While we cannot control the weather, we can work together to mitigate its impact on our environment.”
Wahab highlighted key measures, urging the public to engage in “responsible environmental practices such as proper waste disposal and avoiding construction in flood plains,” stressing these as “crucial steps in this fight.”
“This is the pivot of our messaging; that we understand the challenges of flooding and work together to mitigate it as we continue building resilience infrastructures for the future,” Wahab added, calling for unified efforts under the #CleanerLagos initiative.
