The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) has intensified clampdown on environmental violations, sealing multiple establishments across College Road, Ifako-Ijaiye, and LASU-Isheri Road, Igando, for repeated cases of noise and air pollution.

During the enforcement operation on Monday, October 20, the agency sealed the Cherubim and Seraphim (King of Kings) Church for noise pollution, a fufu-making shop for heat and air pollution and Tynonex Nigeria Limited for creating environmental nuisance.

LASEPA General Manager, Babajide Ajayi, said the exercise was part of ongoing efforts to safeguard public health and restore environmental order across Lagos State.

Ajayi expressed concerns over the illegal operation of the Cherubim and Seraphim (King of Kings) Church within Georgius Cole Estate, Ifako-Ijaiye, noting that residents had filed several complaints about persistent noise from the church’s activities.

He emphasised that while freedom of worship is guaranteed, no individual or group has the right to endanger others’ wellbeing or disrupt public peace under the guise of religious expression.

The LASEPA boss reaffirmed the agency’s zero-tolerance stance on noise, air, and other environmental infractions, urging residents and businesses to comply with all regulatory standards.
