LASG, CBAAC endorse stage play “The Noble Warrior”

The Lagos State Government has formally endorsed the second edition of The Noble Warrior (Eni Ogun), a stage play written and produced by Mr. Cash Onadele, CEO of SYNDK8 Merchants Limited.

The highly anticipated theatrical performance, a tribute to Nobel Laureate Prof. Wole Soyinka, is scheduled to take place from July 11 to July 13, 2025, at Glover Memorial Hall, Lagos Island. In the endorsement letter issued by the Lagos State Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, The Noble Warrior was commended as a compelling and well-curated production worthy of the state’s endorsement.

Also lending its support, the Centre for Black and African Arts and Civilization (CBAAC) reaffirmed its backing for the second edition of the play, recognizing its cultural value and resonance.

Following a widely acclaimed debut run, The Noble Warrior has garnered praise for its artistic portrayal of key African values, bravery, unity, perseverance, and communal identity.

According to CBAAC, these thematic elements not only reflect the spirit of Prof. Wole Soyinka’s works but also align strongly with the Centre’s mission to safeguard and promote African cultural heritage.
Director-General of CBAAC, Hon. Aisha Adamu Augie, expressed her appreciation for the creative team behind the production.

Augie said, “On behalf of CBAAC, I commend the vision and artistry of Mr. Cash Onadele and the SYNDK8 Merchants team. Their ability to capture the essence of African resilience and storytelling through theatre is truly praiseworthy.”

She further noted that the play’s relevance goes beyond entertainment, serving as a cultural touchstone for deeper understanding and appreciation of Africa’s rich literary and philosophical traditions.

“I urge public and private organizations to support this production. It offers a rare opportunity to explore the beauty and complexity of African identity and heritage.”

Programme Director, Osaze, highlighted the play’s appeal to younger audiences, particularly Gen Z, emphasizing its ability to reconnect them with their cultural heritage through a fresh, dynamic approach to theatre.

Artist Director, Adefila, noted that the production skillfully combines traditional narratives with contemporary stage techniques, offering a meaningful experience that encourages young Nigerians to explore their identity and embrace core values like bravery, integrity, and social connectedness.

The programme also holds significant relevance for government and community stakeholders, as it promotes cultural education, fosters social cohesion, and supports the creative economy through local talent development and heritage preservation.
